This is exciting! I'll be one of a group of storytellers at a Storytelling Festival in Schererville, IN, hosted by the Northwest Indiana Storytelling Guild.

Schererville Parks Department is hosting the "Country-A-Fair" at Redar Park (at Austin and Gregory Streets, Schererville), and will include many food and craft vendors, a music tent, petting zoo, games and a storytelling tent. In the storytelling tent, the Guild will have stories for adults 1-2 pm, children's stories 2-3, a liar’s bench 3-4, and then "open mike" and family stories from 5:30 to 7 p.m. I'll handling the second half of the adult stories and the first half of the kids' stories, from about 1:30 to 2:30. Sounds like it'll be a great day to come out and enjoy the park, and all the activities ... see you there!

Live the "Secret Life" of daydreamer Walter Mitty, meet the worst-ever family handyman "Uncle Podger," or find out how "The Storyteller" kept three kids quiet on a long train ride.

The event is called “A Journey Around the World in Legends and Fairytales,” part of a series at Purdue University Calumet offering community outreach through visual and performing arts, through the Building Community through the Arts (BCTA) program. I'll be the host and emcee, introducing a variety of entertainers, as well as performing a few of Aesop's fables and discussing storytelling and the oral tradition. Cool, huh?

I'm playing Judge Danforth in "The Crucible" for 3 weekends at 4th Street Theater in Chesterton. Come see it!

EDIT: It's received 10 award nominations - wish us luck that we win some of them! 5 actors received acting nods, including myself - plus Best Play, and more! What a great show ... EDIT to the EDIT: We won Best Play of the Year! And most of the other noms as well - 7 out of 10! Sadly, no win for me ... but I consider myself part of that Best Play win. :)
