Pictures of my Audiences - the Storyteller's-Eye View
October 27, 2009 - Allied Arts of Arlington Heights, IL
These ladies gave me a wonderful welcome, in the home of one of the members, where I performed "Little Orphant Annie" and Lovecraft's "Cats of Ulthar" (got a nice reaction on the ending of that one!) as well as Poe's "Tell-Tale Heart." (I was doing some nice and relaxed storytelling, perched on a stool, which was nice - but by the end of that one, I was screaming and clawing at the carpet, which must have seemed a little odd.) We also shared the classic "Monkey's Paw," which went over very well, and a more modern piece, Jack Ritchie's "The Magnum," about the cursed bottle of champagne. All in all, a delightful afternoon, and I hope to return with more stories.
